My husband and I booked Jan from Emily Rose cakes to make our wedding cake for our September 2024 wedding. We went for a three tiered cake for our 90 guests with the 1st and 3rd tiers lemon drizzle cake and the 2nd tier carrot cake. This was iced with buttercream. Additionally, she baked us a separate smaller iced fruit cake to save for the future.
Jan's cakes are truly the best we tried from several different bakers in the area. She prepared a wonderful selection of her bakes to try ahead of the wedding and it was difficult to settle on one flavour (in the end we couldn't and picked three!). She was able to alter recipes to cater for allergies, for example making our carrot cake nut free, which we really appreciated.
She liaised directly with our venue and set the cake up beautifully on the morning of the wedding, even adding on flowers from our florist to tie this in with the room.
The cake was delicious - in fact we struggled to find a leftover slice as our guests enjoyed it so much! We would definitely recommend.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Jan create our wedding cake after choosing her from the bakers recommend by our venue. She was so friendly and personable and always went the extra mile - she even made us a box of cupcakes when we said we might pop to a wedding fayre that she was going to! Her cakes are the best we have ever tasted and she is so open to creating your dream whatever that might be, whilst giving invaluable advice. We went for three tiers with three different flavours - salted caramel, lemon & poppyseed, and chocolate orange (after a tasting session of many many flavours!) and were thrilled with our cake - it was absolutely perfect from the classy look to the taste. Thank you Jan, we would 100% recommend!

Wow! Our wedding cake both looked and tasted fantastic. We had a tier saved so we really got to admire Jan's skill and the detail she put into each individual sugar flower as well as the beautiful flavour and moistness of the cake itself. It was incredible. But what made the experience over and above, as well as the quality of the cake, was the service. Jan treats you so wonderfully from beginning to end and was obviously incredibly passionate about baking. She even went to the effort of leaving us a card in our bridal suite wishing us all the best and asking of a photo after our wedding. Could not recommend enough. It is a real pleasure having our wedding cake made by Jan- she did everything from delivering the cake along with cake stand and picking it up afterwards. Thank you!

Jan baked our Wedding cake for us last May. It not only looked amazing but tasted fantastic too! Jan let us come and taste many different flavours before choosing our tiers for the wedding which was brilliant and very tasty!
