We stayed here on our trek of Hadrian's Wall west to east raising money for our local hospice to purchase a cuddle bed ||||The place of full the night we stayed but you wouldn't have known, think majority went to local pub, we opted for a takeaway and a night in the communal lounge. The host was really welcoming and gave us all information needed, breakfast was lovely the following morning before we headed out. Rooms were spacious and there was everything you needed in the communal areas. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay

We stayed last minute for a week in the cottage during December 2024 following a family bereavement. It was very central for all the essential trips and house clearance. Nearby Sainsbury supermarket was en route for food top ups also en route was garage for fuel and logs, it made life much easier for us. The cottage was a welcome and cosy oasis during a difficult time. Paula was exceptionally kind and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others or revisit in the future ... the new puppies brought a smile with their antics in the farmyard,

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage: Very comfortable with lots of room. Very clean, great for groups/family. I felt like I was at home, with a large living room and a full kitchen. Owner was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. The owners of the hostel were the loveliest hosts we could’ve asked for, and gave us lots of useful advice for our walk and the surrounding areas. It had a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy lounge area, as well as nice clean bedrooms and bathrooms. There was also an option to have breakfast provided which was delicious and a lovely opportunity to socialise with other guests. Great for walkers, especially if you’d like to meet other walkers, and a very homely stay overall.

Stayed here while doing Hadrian's Wall Path and it was absolutely ideal. Shower facilities were spotless and bedrooms were just what you needed.

Plenty of breakfast options to chose from in the morning we left feeling fully fueled and ready for the next day.

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, we felt very welcome.

Would 100% recommend Houghton North Farm on your way across the Wall! Absolute value for money!

Excellent place to stay while walking hadrians wall. Clean, tidy, nice rooms, friendly owner and a winning bacon roll for breakfast. Original plan was to walk further to a campsite 5 miles further but after walking all day in the pouring rain from Wallsend we gave up and tried this place and very glad we did.

We loved our stay here. We were welcomed and felt at home instantly. The dogs were very quick to choose ally’s and we’re having the time of their life. We enjoyed the breakfast and the place was spotless. Thank you very much for making us feel so welcome.

If I could give Houghton North Farm Hostel 10 stars - I would! Don’t be fooled by the word ‘Hostel’ this is high end accommodation at a very reasonable price. I travelled with my nephew ‘Walking The Wall’ and we had 2 separate rooms with ‘en- suite’ to ourselves. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean and had everything that you would want. The beds were comfy, the radiators were very welcoming after a wet day and Paula is a fantastic host. The sitting room is wonderful and there is a large kitchen that again was very clean and fresh with tea & coffee on tap. I highly recommend this property to you. Paula’s bacon & egg roll was great for breakfast. Thank you to Paula for fantastic service and lovely accommodation.
