I purchased food from Dan for our wedding party, and I couldn't have been more impressed. The quality of the meat was absolutely fantastic—tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. All our guests commented on the great food!
The prices were incredibly reasonable considering the high quality of the products.
Dan was also incredibly helpful, offering expert advice on cuts and quantities to ensure everything went smoothly for our event.
I’ve been a regular customer for years, and I can confidently say I prefer Dan Gibbon’s cuts over any other local suppliers.

We use this butchers whenever we visit Hebden Bridge. Always friendly service. This time we wanted some brisket to take home but having got to the shop shortly before closing saw that he had already cleared his refrigerator cabinets and thought we would need to call back another day. He was great , cutting us 2 joints of brisket. Had hoped to get some venison but this was sold out but were really pleased to learn there was mutton! Bacon and black pudding and local free range eggs. Very reasonable prices.Would recommend this shop to anyone.

Fantastic quality meat. We are staying in Hebden Bridge and visited again because we enjoyed the meat we bought on our last visit. We have had lovely pork sausages and the best lamb burgers. We will definitely be popping in again before we return home. Lovely produce and the butcher is very helpful.

What a fantastic local butchers shop at Dan’s!
An amazing array of locally sourced meat, for quick teas to delicious roasts, and always reasonably priced. Always feel welcomed, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend to friends and family!

We are the Hare & Hounds near Hebden Bridge . 2 years ago we swapped from another butcher to Dan and now has him for all our meat . The quality and value for money is exceptional , all our customers comment on the quality . Dan is very easy to work with , friendly and highly knowledgable it’s no wonder the shop and Dan has won awards . A local young man working hard to build his business . We moved to Hebden six months ago and this was our regular stop for fresh meat, but recent experiences have led us to take our business elsewhere. While we’ve consistently found the older gentleman to be courteous and helpful, his younger counterpart who we understand runs the business has not.

On one occasion in November when we wanted to buy a large chicken he inexplicably selected a different - much smaller - bird to the one we’d indicated, insisting ‘they’re all the same.’ When previously making belly pork into mince for us wasn’t a bother, we now get a curt refusal.

Even more disappointing was our recent - last - visit a week before Christmas. I wanted to buy some fresh pork and was told ‘it’s all been booked’. I asked about the meat on open display for sale. Then, I was begrudgingly given what I asked for, only to discover at home while cutting it that it had an evil smell - all £20 worth of shoulder, belly and even bacon was putrid and had to be thrown away.

We will get our meat elsewhere in future - prices are higher at Woodhead’s round the corner but we get consistent quality and pleasant, accommodating service. I recommend others do the same.
