Pretty cool place. We parked up at the stadium at walked a short distance there is parking outside though.

Very accessible place and I can imagine on match day or a warm weekend it will have a superb atmosphere.

I'd like to see a few more food options, but enough to cater to many pallets.

We went to the calabash tree, 100% be back flavours and everything was on point.

Excellent new venue, with a variety of of eateries and bars. We ate at Vito's restaurant serving an Italian menu. Absolutely beautiful food and drinks, great service and reasonably priced for high quality food. We highly recommend and will be returning soon.

Spent a good few hours on a Sunday afternoon in and around this new addition to the rejuvenation of Sunderland. The weather did not help the outdoor seating but each table came with a heater, there are plenty of places to eat and drink with lots of choices. We made our base in the pit pony bar which is warm and well decorated. We also had a great pizza while watching the live music. When we return it will be an Italian Sunday roast I think

Lovely balance of history and modern culture thrown together in an excellent venue with a great mixture of food, drink and entertainment. Well worth a visit.

Food your Mother would make, I loved our visit, with Mum too.
We had 3 stunning pies, the staff here are very friendly & service is quick too.
This is a take away, but we ate in the marquee in the courtyard.
It's a lovely atmosphere & there are places to get drinks close by.
We even saw Si King, just wish I'd said hello.

Sheepfolds, Sunderland – A Promising Venue with Room for Improvement

Sheepfolds in Sunderland is an exciting new venue with plenty of charm, but it’s not without its drawbacks. The overall atmosphere is inviting, making it a great spot for drinks and light snacks during the day. However, one of the biggest frustrations is the lack of a public footpath bridge, which makes access more difficult than it should be.

When it comes to food, the options feel quite limited. You’re either grabbing a slice of pizza or committing to a full Italian or Asian meal—there’s little in between for those looking for a more balanced dining experience. In fact, after having one drink, we ended up getting an Uber elsewhere for food before returning later to meet friends for a few more drinks.

While the venue has a lot of potential, it still feels like it’s missing key elements to make it a truly well-rounded destination. With some improvements—such as better accessibility and a wider variety of food choices—Sheepfolds could become a go-to spot in Sunderland. For now, it’s a decent place to visit but leaves a lot to be desired.

I know this place is new and staff need to be trained; but having queues on a week night and when you get to the front of the queue you can tell why. This place won’t last if they can get the staff behind the bar to be more efficient. There were plenty of staff they were just slow to do anything. The refurbishment is done beautifully and all the surrounding business look to complement each other; but can imagine on a bust day they will struggle if the bar staff aren’t improved.

Canny place beer food cocktails bands on,itll be better when its extended and bridge is built connecting it to sunderland, as it is now its sort ov out of the road so the bridge will definaitly bring in more custom , glad they expanding as not much there at the moment
