Birling Estate is a complete farce! They boast of heritage and history, promises of conservation and restoration. But the reality is they are planning 30 years of destruction in the village of Ryarsh by turning rolling pastures, historic woodland and a tranquil area of outstanding beauty full of precious wildlife, flora and fauna into a Silica Sand Quarry the INVISIBLE KILLER! This strategic decision that has been made by Birling Estate is driven by greed and a total disregard of the devastating impacts that it will have and the life changing consequences for the local residents, local schools, businesses and visitors. The village will never recover, the quarry cannot go ahead.

Birling Estates claim to be environmentally conscious however behind the scenes they are allowing acres of beautiful pastureland and historic ancient woodland (in green belt!) to be decimated by proposed quarrying.

It seems the Nevill’s wish to provide a sustainable, environmental legacy to the area is not as important and huge wadges of cash.

Birling Estates make claims that conservation and stewardship is key and a major part of what they stand for. Sadly, at the same time, they are willing to put up for development their own land for a huge sandpit in what is currently composed of meadows, ancient woodlands, public rights of way, an acqufer, green belt land and an area that supports a large number of wild animals.

Birling Estate prides itself on being forward thinking, environmentally concious and sustainable. Yet behind the scenes the director of Birling Estate is allowing the proposal of a 30+ year quarry on his land in the neighbouring village of Ryarsh. Residents & visitors to the area will suffer from the quarry in its entirety, whilst the director of Birling Estate profits. These actions certainly do not match the brand image of Birling Estate. Absoluetly shameful.

Birling Estates are planning to build a sand quarry in an area of outstanding beauty. This sand quarry will exist for 30 years plus and will affect the health of the children and adults who live near. Don't believe a word of what they say on their website!!!!!

Birling estates are allowing acres of beautiful pastureland and historic ancient woodland (in green belt!) to be annihilated by proposed quarrying. This flies in the face of their proposed environmental ethics. When it come down to it money wins over ethical principles.
