We found Southmead Poultry when we were researching where to buy some POL hens to supplement our flock of two older birds. Communications with Tracey were prompt, efficient and helpful, and we were able to pay for our new girls and some supplies in advance by bank transfer. Having been given our pickup slot, everything went perfectly and we were impressed with the sensible COVID safety measures.

Our new girls (three ISA Browns) are an absolute delight; they are healthy, friendly and inquisitive. They soon settled down with the old girls and started laying the very next day, despite it being the middle of winter.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Southmead Poultry and will certainly be calling back for supplies.

Tracy has been fantastic with really helpful advice and has everything we needed to get set up for getting chickens. The hens are fantastic and a pleasure to look after. All of them are now laying, so plenty of eggs. I’d highly recommend Southmead Poultry.

I have been going to Tracy for nearly 8 years now. I bought my coup from her and my first batch of 5 chickens. I have got all my hens from her. Her set-up is so clean, tidy, orderly and slick. She is a font of knowledge and is very helpful and willing to pass on her experience. Can't be faulted.

Southmead Poultry comes highly recommended by everyone who has bought hens from Tracy.
I have been buying hens from her for over 12 years and everything is always so impressively clean and tidy. It is such a great pleasure to go there and to choose which hens to take home. A lovely and exciting experience 🙂 All of the hens we have bought have been totally healthy and we have not had a problem with any of them.

Used the hen boarding service at Southmead Poultry. Really great customer service, knew the hens were going to be in good hands and lovely people to deal with. For the peace of mind you get, excellent value too! Highly recommend.
