This is one of our favourites for breakfast with our 1 & 4 yo as they have a little toy cupboard and great toilet/baby change facilities including a toddler toilet seat and step for the sink. On the adult side I simply LOVE their coffee. They have recently split it up to make more of the health foods shop & I think it works well and it will be interesting to see what new stock they will be selling.

I love Gaskyns as I eat gluten and dairy free and they do both! They do gluten free bread so all their sandwiches and meals with bread as a side are choices I can have. I particularly enjoy the braised pear with melted Camembert topping on bread. Also their salmon and trout salads with lemon zest mayonnaise. My husband invariably goes for the Gaskyns Special cooked breakfast with black pudding and Arundel butchers sausages. I normally forget about dessert, but not here as they do a selection of home-made gluten free and at least one gluten and dairy free Cake! Such a treat after the boring, over sweet, cellophane packaged offerings elsewhere.
I only know one other place where you can get an almond milk Mocha coffee made with dark Montezumas chocolate!
It is very child friendly too, with kids toys and settees with low tables in addition to normal restaurant tables.
An absolute gem!

Love this little tea room. I had the cream tea and my partner had a sandwich which was well presented and the scone was a generous size. There are lots of quirky artisan bit's on display which are available to purchase. The tea shop is right next to a farm shop full of local vegetables and other groceries and also plants and flowers outside.

I was pleasantly surprised by this cafe, this place is dog friendly, as is most of Arundel!
The menu is a little confusing and it is not obvious what is vegan except the 'vegan burger' , but the waitress was able to tell me and even said that the white bread had milk in it, so I had granary.
They had sunflower spread available and checked if I wanted some. The food itself was amazing, I got a hummus, tomato and cucumber sandwich, toasted- the hummus was Moroccan style and soooo tasty, it came with a side salad with a nice dressing and Burts crisps.
I ordered a latte with soy, but almond was also available.
There were no dessert menus as they are cooked fresh and available at the counter, i asked with trepidation if there were any vegan desserts and to my surprise there was a wonderful raw chocolate brownie made with dates and coconut, it was huge and delicious! Very impressed.
Overall, the ordering process was not the easiest, but the prices are good for the area, service excellent and food top notch, will be going again and recommend that toasted sandwich....mmmm.

Robin a friend of mine, we meet up on a Wednesday and have a light lunch. We had tried 2 other eateries in Arundel but unfortunately they were closed. Whilst driving out over the bridge l spotted Gaskyns and thought l'd give it a try. Robin had the soup of the day and l had a standard breakfast, we both had decaf coffee. We will be adding Gaskyns to our list of eateries for our weds lunches. Lovely meal, good cooking and decaf coffee was one of the best we'd had.

When I called to ask for an email address so that I could send this message privately I was again confronted by rudeness and unpleasantness from the manager so I’m having to post this on a public forum - this is the email I would have sent had the man not refused to give me his email address- I felt strongly that I needed to send you an email after the incident that happened in your shop this morning. As a caterer who often works in the area I do on occasion use your shop in fact I go out of my way to support you rather than co op or other cheaper local stores with a view to supporting Small local businesses. This morning however your/ your wife’s/your husbands behaviour was totally unacceptable. When entering the shop without a mask- which I’m exempt from wearing- I was in no better terms verbally attacked by the woman behind the counter- who incidentally was not wearing a mask- why was I not wearing a mask - she asked. I said i was exempt and rather than just dropping the subject she continued to prod and verbally aggressively demand a reason to why I wasn’t wearing one and that I should carry a “card” I politely told her/you that it was non of her business why I wasn’t wearing a mask and that I would happily go outside and stand by the door to be served- which both people (husband and wife) declined but continued to attack and confront me about my reasons. I continued with my purchase and the woman was rude, dismissive and unpleasant more or less throwing my change at me. In These uncertain times as a business dealing with the (often sensitive and vulnerable) general public- it’s your duty to not only treat your customers with kindness and respect but to know the law- for your information I’m attaching a picture I took from the government website affirming that it is absolutely non of your business why I don’t wear a mask and that it is personal choice whether or not I carry an exemption certificate or “home made” sign. You might consider understanding the LAW as you so rudely kept bringing up before you attack and alienate your customers. It is in fact also worth considering that as well as physical exemptions there are also emotional ones to not wearing a mask and that your behaviour this morning regardless of my reasons to not wearing a mask have left me feeling extremely upset , embarrassed and vulnerable. I have never been treated like this anywhere else I’ve been. I would politely suggest that it’s in your best interest to treat your customers with a little more compassion in future especially seeing as non of your staff were wearing masks.

UPDATE. Lovely little cafe serving Movenpick ice cream. Good service and great for healthy eats. There is a mini health food store next door as well. UPDATE: CAFE HAS CLOSED. Health food shop remains open and is recommended. (Not sure if they are still serving Movenpick.)
