Their hot food is still really good and the meat........ Definitely a yes from me with some lovely side dishes too! 2 types of stuffed pork which was heavenly and the garlic mushrooms and minted potatoes were sublime!!!

Tired of being unable for years (literally) to find what I want elsewhere, I dropped in to see what was on offer and got exactly what I came for. My once-in-a-lifetime purchase of three huge short-handle tomahawk steaks.

However, these were already in the display and ready to go - impressive. No special orders or reservations required. I took them home and just a few hours later I did a 'Guga' on them and ended up with one of the most delicious eating experiences I've yet had.

Top that off with some added-value 3-for-£15 meat packs and wonderful, friendly service and I'm ecstatic to have Folkestone Buthchers.

I am very impressed with Folkestone Butchers. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. There is such a wide choice of meats and items that are already prepared for cooking such as the stir fry chicken, pork or beef. The stuffed chicken breasts are also very delicious.
One is certainly tempted by the display in the window and the lovely smells of baked pastry which is also available. One can also purchase eggs and various cooking spices.
I will certainly be going there again.

What friendly helpful staff! Completely clean and tidy, great hot counter and cold side and drinks fridge. Great cuts of meat and what great value the BBQ packs are and amazing portions. Don't be afraid to ask the staff if you are unsure of how to cook certain cuts as they will tell you the best way to do it. Absolutely amazing service and great quality food. ?

I was a regular when this was Rooke and Sons, but I've been since it became Folkestone Butchers and it didn't seem to have changed much. I went in today and asked for a "premium pasty", my usual favourite. The only thing premium about it was the price! It was luke warm and it didn't look like the old premium pasties at all (which were sealed at the top). I used to find their pasties a good value lunchtime snack, but not any more. Yes, I know prices have all gone up, but it wasn't much more than a year ago that I went in and paid just under £2 for a decent, hot, pasty. It was probably taxed for being hot, but honestly the one I had today would have been hotter if I'd sat on it for 30 minutes!

Fantastic value for money compared to supermarkets. Purchased 3 rump steaks all trimmed, 2 pork pillows stuffed with cheese and onion and 2 hunters chicken for £23.00. Enough for a large family (I'm 6'2" son 6'4") for 3 top quality meals. In these times of economic crisis, we need to use local shops otherwise the high St will look void.

Popped in to enquire about beef joints. Looking at the sirloin or fillet and asked about price. Price a little higher than some but I'm happy to pay for a good piece of beef. I then asked about provenance, is it organic etc. Young lad, polite, went backwards and forwards to the (I assume) butcher in the back. Came back first time
"yes, it's organic",
"can you tell me where it's from please". Came back a second time
"tenterden" (I could have got this wrong). Not really forthcoming with other details.
"Do you have any more details on the farm it comes from please" goes off again. Comes back
"Sorry I can't tell you the farm name. We can't give those details out"
Thanked him. Left. Happy to pay a premium but I want to know more about the meat than the brush off I received. May as well buy the meat in a supermarket.
Sadly, I won't be going back.

Know nothing of the meat but if the bakery in the back was in my town I'd be the size of a house. This place truly highlights how pathetic vegans and vegetarians are; a pox on their weak boned offspring!!!
