10 sausage rolls for £3.50 at that quality is worth it alone, everything else looked incredible as well, absolutely love traditional bakeries and it's a jewel in the centre of Ellesmere

I grew up just outside Ellesmere and went to school in Lakeland’s.
Sneaking down town for lunch, Vermulens was always a treat.
I now 30 something years later love in south wales and still a few of times a year do the 3 hour drive just to visit, the fabulous aroma that hits when you walk in is amazing.
The quality of their products is honestly (as a good professional for most of my life) simply unmatched.
Note* Anlot have people have said I’m without sense to do a 5/6 hour trip to go to a bakery, that opinion lasts right up until they try something from their….then they understand.

Whilst on Holiday in the area we visited Vermeulens and I have to say wow.. our party bought a number of baked goods.

The quality was fantastic and didn't leave us disappointed.

The pork pie was the best I have ever tasted. Our kids loved the small sausage rolls and we took away a lemon meringue ro have later which was divine.

Was excited to go to a proper bakery and after queueing for over 10 minutes ( person before me had a nice long chat with staff despite there being a dozen in queue) . I saw the sign about notifying of allergies very clearly displayed but sadly when I asked if they had any dairy free ( allergic to cows milk) or possibly vegan (for absence of dairy) - they didn’t need to check if was flat ‘no’. No apology or sorry sold out, they obviously just don’t consider not using butter or milk in some products. Luckily co-op is over the road where they have a selection of dairy free sweet options so I went there. I hope to go back to ellesmere where I will ask about the bread next time.

A long time since I was last here and great to see it thriving.
One of the best delicatessen's around most definitely!
If you're visiting Ellesmere or a canal boater moored up on the Ellesmere junction do pop in and have a look at what's on offer.
Very friendly, welcoming helpful staff and you're always served with a big smile.
Well done all and highly recommended...

The bread is exceptional. The deli counter has your mouth watering. Shame about the zombie who served us. Absolutely zero personality and managed to spoil our experience.

Lovely little deli and bakery. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The brownies were superb and the fresh bread delightful.
I also really enjoyed my steak and cheese pie.
