Absolutely love coming here! ? I forget how cheap it is as I wait a few months for my Plastics to empty before I come to refill, I’m pleasantly surprised each time

A fantastic place to shop. We get all our dry goods here now. They're way cheaper than some of the other plastic free places and when you consider that most of the stuff is organic they're pretty competitive with supermarkets too. I've always found the person serving to be friendly and helpful. Take your own containers; I love the fact that you can have as little or as much as you want not like when things are pre-packaged.

The shop itself is great, tidy, wide variety of eco friendly stock. I say this coming from a retail background of seven years, that I felt like I was being a nuisance. Granted I had my little boy in his pram with me (I had not anticipated the shop being busy at the time I visited), the owner did help me with the coffee machine which I was grateful for but no other help was offered and it was obvious I was struggling. Every other zero waste shop I have been too has offered to help me. I am well aware I'm not entitled to this but it gets you good reviews and it's just nice to be nice. I also overheard the owner muttering about a customer, who was still in the shop, after some spillage was made. It's a zero waste shop, they get messy...My items were moved after I had asked the lovely lady behind the counter if I could keep my items there whilst I filled up my containers which she said was ok, but then found my items in a basket on the floor, I was told not to use the counter to fill up my spices even though, again the lady behind the counter said it was ok and the "designated area" was very busy. Perhaps a pull out table for when the herbs and spices area is busy? I felt uncomfortable whilst I was in there and started to get quite anxious, consequently dropping things and leaving feeling very silly and a little embarrassed. Now I understand that people have off days; especially in retail, but I have visited this shop several times before with similar experiences. Today will be the last time I visit I think. It's such a shame as the shop has so much potential, but I had a negative experience.

I am so glad Preserve Foods have opened a store in my local area.
I paid my first visit today and I was like a kid in a candy store! The shop looks small from the outside but the range of products offered is impressive. Countless type of nuts, dried fruits, granolas, seeds, spices, pasta, rice...and even beauty products! I also need to say that everything is fairly priced, just to show that there's no need to be rich to try and reduce the amount of single use plastics we do in our daily lives. I brought my old tapperwears, jam jars and spice jars and just use them to shop instead. The peanut butter machine blew my mind: you can get freshly and PURE peanut butter, choosing between having done smooth or crunchy. If anyone is in doubt, please pay a visit to this shop and you won't be disappointed!

I'm sad to see some of the negative reviews on here. The owner isn't a 'nasty little man'. Actually he's a quiet, helpful chap who runs a local, eco friendly, family business that sometimes halves the rip off prices you'll find in similar stores around town. Great selection, good quality, excellent value. Five stars.
