Called in here for lunch on a Friday expecting it to be relatively quiet, but how wrong we were. The staff were very attentive and served us at the bar and at the table very quickly, efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. They seemed to have a lot of staff working there which kept the food and drinks coming out quickly. We had the turkey sandwich which was really generous and great value at £8. The beer was exceptional and very good value, but not surprising as the brewery is across the car park. Highly recommended as a traditional pub with exceptional service, food and choice of home made beer.

Really nicely done up bar and gardens, lovely staff, great tasting ales. The ales are actually brewed on site and very reasonable price.

The food is good, the beef burger with bacon and cheese had good flavour. The plate could do with some salad.

The falafel burger was meant to come with coleslaw, as you can see, wasn't served to us. Good flavour and nice burger.

Didn't want to complain about the lack of coleslaw and shouldn't have to.

We love having lunch at The Pots. It's a lovely pub, and the addition of the barn, along with outside seating, gives plenty of tables. My husband loves the beer, anyway, which is very reasonably priced. Today, we both had the most fantastic chalk stream trout fishcakes as a starter. They were the best fishcakes I've ever tasted, and we had to pass on our compliments to the chef. My husband had the venison pie, which he said was delicious, especially with the port gravy. I had the maple and bbq brisket bap, which was also melt-in-the-mouth delicious, but after the 2 big fishcakes was way too much for me. 2 courses of delicious food for 2 people for £48, I'd say, was pretty good. Luckily, the 6+ mile walk home burned off some of the delicious food!

This is a village pub at the top of its game. Set in a small village in lovely countryside, this well maintained and managed pub offers superb beer from their own brewery next door (at amazing prices too - from under £4 a pint), with half a dozen regular ales, and seasonal specials too. Naturally, there's a good selection of delicious food, which, again, is better value than most places. But book ahead, as this pub is deservedly busy. Lovely, helpful staff too. If only more pubs were like the Pots...

Firstly the beer - faultless and desperately good value at £3.70/pint. Just come here and get your carbs from that, it’s enough! I had a prawn cocktail. It was very 70s, as it should be, but the prawns were rather small and the flavour rather lacking. Pre-pack butter, solid from the fridge, should have been left in the 70s. The ploughman’s was pretty decent. Old Winchester is good cheese but the Brie was ok/average. The ham was very salty and not great quality, although cut thick (perhaps that denotes quality to some?). Nice salad, decent bread although a bit more wouldn’t harm. White cocktail pickled onions (yuck) but lovey chutney. If small things like the ham, prawns, onions and pre-pack butter (really, still?) were changed out for better quality items, it would be a full five stars. Very pleasant service at table but the (inexperienced?) lady behind the bar was a bit flustered with simple requests from other guests that made everyone feel slightly uncomfortable. Just relax and talk naturally to people. Thank you.

Had a lovely time this afternoon. When we turned up the kitchen was just shutting. However the manager / owner spoke to the Chef and persuaded them to stay open. Thank you for doing this , it was great customer service. The food was very tasty and great selection of local beers. In addition to this we went into the brewery shop and got a great explanation of the beers which they sold. It was a great experience and will certainly be back. Thank you!
