First time visit to The Grain Store at Doddington and very impressed.
We only popped in for a coffee but the food looked so inviting that we also had something to eat.
Looking at the food coming out from the kitchen it all looked delicious with large portions.
Our waitress Natalie informed us that if the portion is too large for one you can share, just ask the server when ordering, this is good news as my wife doesn't eat a lot so it would avoid waste.
Milky coffee was lovely and hot and the pots of tea were also of a generous size.
See photos of the menu.
Another bonus is that dogs are allowed inside the cafe. Good to see as Doddington Hall is very popular with dog walkers.
Free parking on site or over the road.
Thoroughly recommend.

My only criticism is the way the menu is priced in decimal instead of £p. Bit over the top in my opinion. 0.8 for jam, is that 8p or 80p?

The grain store is a new restaurant at the Dodington hall site. It's quite large with probably 120+ covers and includes a large patio area outdoors. It is light and airy inside with high ceilings and lots of well done wood panelling. The tables are all set for 2 or 4 people and can be moved together for larger numbers. The menu has something for all tastes. We chose to have a vegetable and bean salad from the kitchen gardens and we were not disappointed. The dressing on the salad had just the right balance between sweet and acidity. The coffee was well rounded and on a par with big chains. It is child and dog friendly and even has more supportive chairs for those who need them. The noise levels can be quite high but different areas may be quieter and worth exploring.

Attended for a birthday meal, all the food was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were friendly and professional. However, the evening was spoilt by a half an hour wait for the bill after asking, waiters did not come to check on us once the table was cleared, and it was difficult to flag someone over. An unfortunate end to a lovely evening, I would suggest the timing of the waiters needs a good review.

Popped in on a busy Sunday afternoon to sit outside, ordered a sandwich, side of chips, tea, and an elderflower drink for approximately £18. Food was served within half an hour even though they were very busy, tea was served just after food - waiter very kindly checked on it for us.
It's really dog friendly in the space outside and there seemed to be plenty of varied seating.
A nice addition to the Doddington offering.
It is, however, more on the expensive side food and drink wise. 90p for oat milk per drink (an oat latte costs £4.55).

Decided to venture over to The Grain Store at Doddington Hall on Monday Morning.
Having arrived just after Breakfast service had ended, and found the Brunch Menu to be a bit limited (it does seem to be a bit odd run a menu for 1 hour a day.. maybe combine the two?), we were more than happy to sit at a lovely table and wait for lunch to commence at 12. We had a couple of good coffees whilst we waited, and found that although it was very busy for a Monday morning/lunchtime, we never felt rushed or like we were crammed into a corner just being a table of two.
Our order was taken pretty much bang on midday, and the food came out at a phenomenal pace - Both dishes were excellently cooked, hot and well presented. If I was being super-critical, for £17 for the burger, it could have been seasoned better.

The staff members who served us were lovely, politely and attentive, and we shall certainly be returning to The Grain Store more often

Nice food and environment but let down by slow inattentive service. We weren't offered tea/coffee after mains and had to ask for a menu/wave down the wait staff, after which only one menu was brought over despite there being 3 people in our party. A different party next to our table who came in after us were offered tea and coffee before us. Also no loo roll in one of the cubicles. Also no strawberry jam available with scones, only raspberry.

Food quality quite good, excellent chips. Food seasoned well, would have been 5* if not for the wait staff who spend more time chatting with each other by the kitchen than looking after their tables.

UPDATE: went again with my parents and future in laws and dined upstairs. The service was impeccable and the food just as delicious as last time. Keep it up.

Place looked lovely however we have three ‘hot’ chocolates which were luke warm at best. Ordering from the outside tables was a little chaotic, no access to menus outside and no clear instruction of where to order inside. Hot chocolates were tiny and mostly cream, but was just a cold drink of chocolate which was disappointing and let the place down. (The hot chocolates were £5 each)

I have been on 4 occasions and each time the food has been excellent. The menu is very varied My favourite meal is the Pork Schnitzel. The scones are fresh and yummy. The cookies are delicious and a great addition to the new menu. The staff are all really friendly and very attentive. I would like to thank Tom for looking after our group upstairs today. He was so hardworking and polite.
