We recently stayed in caravan 6. Our family has stayed several times when I was a child and it didn't lose the magic as an adult. There were, however, a few caveats that I'll discuss below.

The owners are lovely people, incredibly friendly and helpful. Our caravan was spotlessly clean and had a good amount of basic essentials. Despite caravan 6 being the oldest on site, it did not feel dated. The WiFi was a touch slow sometimes but suitable for facebook/youtube/roblox.

The working farm environment and countryside is very peaceful and serene, though do obviously expect cows and the sound and smell of them (which we never found overpowering).
You're invited to explore the farm on their website and while I never ventured too far, I did enjoy saying hello to the cows and feeding them handfuls of hay or petting them. (And I do kind of now want a pet cow...) I was also generously invited to see a newborn calf by the owner :).
There are several chickens who will happily follow you around and a loner cat who I never managed to get to come over.

There were a few minor caveats which I didn't bring up with the owners at the time of the holiday as I felt like it would be complaining for the sake of complaining as it wasn't something that could be easily fixed in a short timeframe.

I may be misremembering things that are "par for the course" in static caravans, but the twin beds aren't suitable for anyone except children or very small adults (and I mean small as my grandmother who is maybe 5'0 and 10 stone soaking wet found the beds narrow and small). If you have more than 2 adults then I would STRONGLY recommend bringing an airbed.

I slept the first night on the sofa, which was comfier and wider than the actual beds. The rest of the week was spent on an airbed ordered from Argos. I'm a 5'5 size 24 women, and trust me when I say my feet hung off the edge and my shoulders were wider than the bed! Basically any position I laid in I felt like I was about to fall off.

With a point of constructive criticism, I feel that replacing the existing twin beds with one larger and comfier single bed would be a better choice over trying to cram in two people into the already very cramped rooms. I packed very light, and my stuff took up the entirety of one bed, as I put my stuff on the unused one. I imagine two people in the twin rooms would literally be climbing on top of one another. The twin rooms were also baking hot.

There was also no plug in one of the bedrooms (an odd design choice), but this was quickly solved by George providing us with an extension cable.

The bed frames/mattresses had seen better days. The pillows and duvets were honestly quite nice.

Granted, there is a pull out camping bed, but this honestly looked a little frightening with some sort of grime/mold mixture growing on it and a general poor appearance of disuse and age with rusty springs covered by pipe insulation to avoid the otherwise numerous pinches. I didn't use it, hence the airbed. I'm sure for someone braver than me (and lighter) it's useable.

We stayed here over Easter this year for a week. The caravan (number 2) was well stocked with all the kitchen kit you need and a full size fridge/freezer. It was very comfortable and well priced as well.
We dealt with Bethany who was friendly and helpful, even giving some chicken food for our girls to feed the chickens in the morning.
There is a small play area which the girls enjoyed.
It’s in a great location as well - with walks passing through the farm and a lovely little short wooded walk nearby.
We hope to come back again!

Shaw farm is a lovely place to stay. It has 6 static caravans on a working farm. You are staying in the farm yard with chickens and cows all around you. The owners are very helpful and will talk to you and show you the farm if you want. We stayed in the budget static caravan which was clean and excellently stocked with almost everything you need for cooking and entertainment while you are there. There is a lovely little pub called the fox just a short walk away and lots of walks around the farmland to do. Would recommend. ?

Caravan 2 Feb2023

The farm is beautiful and has beautiful landscapes. My children enjoyed it very much. The staff is friendly. As for the caravan, it is comfortable and very equipped with almost everything. I do not remember that I wanted anything in the kitchen and did not find it.

Caravans were very well equipped. A group of us stayed here for a week and had an enjoyable time. Nicky and George were very helpful in the booking process and kept in touch throughout. The children enjoyed the tour of the farm!

High end caravans are definitely the ones to opt for. The hill up to the farm is a decent hike. If only we could've booked some good weather for our week!

Enjoyed our stay here very much.

Stunning place to stay. Friendly and welcoming. This is a working farm and so the accommodation and surroundings reflect this. We loved every minute. The caravans are clean and have everything you need. The farm recycles. They supply a little garden area for each caravan so you can sit out and eat weather permitting. An abundance of leaflets about the area and the history of the farm is kept in the caravan, making deciding on what to do each day a breeze. We were not made to feel as if we were in the way at all and you can take a careful wander around the farm looking at machinery etc. Bring carrots as their horse loves them!!
Beautiful cows come and go through the farm at different times but it did not do anything except add more charm. Beautiful views, stunning walks & great pubs locally to eat in or stop off for a beer. We had a wonderful holiday.

A few days at Shaw Farm in caravan No:1. This is their budget van but all the same it was very comfortable and well equipped. The views are very good and the welcome message on the caravan door was a nice touch. Bethany came to welcome me later in the day. Walks from the door, and just a short drive to New Mills town and the train station on the Manchester to Sheffield line.

We used to visit here regularly, so were worried it would not be the same now.
We had an absolutely lovely time! The caravan was new and well equipped. Ours even had a full sized fridge freezer.
The views are amazing and its so quiet, apart from the odd "moo" .
There are so many walks nearby that you could park here and not use your car for a week.
It is apparently good for cycling too
The caravans each have their own little garden area, which is lovely to sit in with a cup of tea ( or glass of wine).
There are lots of attractions within a half hours drive, although we didn't go far this time.
George was happy to show the children the tractors etc in the barn and my grandson was so excited.
Will definitely be coming again.
Thankyou George, Nicky and family for a great time.
