Accommodation and location nice but we found the owners to be overly attentive , verging on intrusive. Coming round for lengthy engagements at least twice a day , including Christmas morning !
On arrival accomadation not ready and owners complaining about mess previous occupiers had left ! We came back an hour later and were met with the information that they had tried to cancel are booking but as would have been charged 500 by company didn’t , not the welcome one wants.
Should have known from what happened on are arrival but they failed to return deposit so had to contact over and over. Then was informed we had left place in such a mess they wouldn’t be returning it ! “ such a mess , mud in entrance hall and so much rubbish , late being ready for next guests !” ( mud in carpeted entrance hall ; as leaving was asked to go upstairs and open connecting door . Rubbish : bin was half full on arrival and Christmas does tend to generate rubbish , that was left bagged and tidy next to bin ! ) Eventually half deposit return but left feeling sour about whole experience. Minus the fabulous time had with whole family being together in the Peaks at Christmas of course ?
