We had two 60th birthdays in the family to celebrate so asked Wendy at Hotel Cake to design a cake and somehow to feature hobbies of both birthday people – skiing and fishing. End result was fabulous – a chocolate sponge cake covered in dark chocolate ganache and then white chocolate for the skiing and fishing images on top of the cake – along with some soft fruit as a garnish, which was a lovely final touch. Wendy’s suggestion for an alternative filling was spot on – we’d originally thought about (yet more!) chocolate, but Wendy suggested a slightly sharp fruit jam as a contrast to the richness of all that chocolate and it worked an absolute treat! It looked amazing and tasted divine! Thank you so much, Wendy!

It’s become a bit of a tradition that Hotel Cake will make my daughter’s birthday cake every year. We’ve had some spectacular cakes created for our daughter and even during lockdown we decided on being a little creative by creating cupcake boxes to share with close family and friends. Every year, our daughter has a new brief and Hotel Cake has never failed to impress. The service is great and Wendy will go out of her way to create a truly personalised experience. I would highly recommend Hotel Cake.
