My first visit to Gail’s in Didsbury was nothing short of amazing! The café boasts a minimalist and aesthetic vibe that instantly makes you feel at ease. The selection of freshly made bakery items is impressive, offering something for everyone. A special shoutout to Tara, who was exceptional—her warmth and willingness to explain the menu truly elevated our experience. The food was not only delicious but also incredibly filling. I’m definitely looking forward to returning. Thank you, Tara, and the entire Gail’s team, for a wonderful visit!

I absolutely love the pastries from this bakery, but I have to say that the prices are a bit higher than i expected, especially when dining in. I usually grab takeout, but when I hang out with a friend there, I was surprised by the highest prices for dine-in, especially since we didn’t receive any extra service. I mean paying more for a chilled dry bread and grab your seat and pay at the cashier.

We love Gail’s but this branch was a disappointment. They didn’t have any spoons, they hadn’t restocked the sugar, and we were told by the brunette member of staff with tattoos (that everyone complains about) that they were now closed even though we hadn’t long received our drinks, and the Google maps page says it was open for another half an hour. My latte wasn’t very warm and they almost immediately started noisily putting all the furniture away and stopped access to the toilet - not a nice atmosphere at all. Do you close at 6pm or 6:30pm on a Saturday? Either way, you can give customers a friendly warning when you serve them that you’ll be closing soon - then it’s their choice to be quick or come back another day.

The woman behind the counter was very rude and should not be in any customer service role. She has a major attitude problem and this has been noticed across multiple visits now. The selection of food available is also very sparse if you go in the afternoon or evening

I’ve been going to Gail’s in Didsbury for a lunch time snack most days of the week for the last year or so. The service I receive is always incredible, as are all the staff who are absolute fantastic. Namely Olive who always greets me with a smile, lovely conversation who knows my order inside and out but is always ready with a new tasty recommendation. This is a great bakery with wonderful food and very kind and considerate staff!

I visit here frequently to just get an iced coffee or a pastry. The feta and spinach rolls are beautiful. I’m not a huge gails fan as in the area there are independent businesses that offer way better coffee and pastries but it’s an easy option so I do visit often, their rewards app is handy too.

The reason I come back to this store is because the staff are so so lovely!! Never had an issue.

However, a few days ago when I visited (3rd of September) the girl serving with black hair and tattoos came across very cold, maybe she was having an off day or just has a personality that comes off like that but it just ruined the experience for me as the staff there have always been so sweet and welcoming but she was very blunt and cold. Not what I’m used to from this Gail’s.

Went here twice during our stay. We were let down on our first trip here by the service. We almost felt like the girl serving us couldn’t be bothered. There was a few bakery items we still wanted to try so decided to give it another try two days later on Wednesday. Served by a tall young lad who was very polite and friendly. We almost didn’t go back because of our first visit - happy, friendly staff go a long way with your customers! Didn’t catch his name but he changed the experience entirely.
