I visited Mrs Wilson's today, the food was nice and the quality in general was good. The staff seemed friendly and we were served quickly and efficiently and enjoyed our meal. Having browsed the menu, I do have to agree with other reviews somewhat that quite a few of the menu items do seem very overpriced, even in our post Brexit inflationary times. £9.95 for a jacket potato is a bit much, I can walk a short way down the road and buy one for £6 at Bessie's in Winters. £3 for a bottle of diet coke, again expensive. The flapjack is tasty, again though £4.50 per piece? I do however think the Cumberland breakfast is reasonable value. But overall don't go here expecting it to be cheap. Decide for yourself if it's for you.

We've been a couple of times and unfortunately have been a bit disappointed each time. This time was the worst; staff weren't friendly and when they made mistakes with food there was no apology. I ordered a mozzarella, tomato and sun-dried pesto sandwich and soup deal, and assumed it would be like a panini from the description. It came on normal white bread with grated mozzarella that you usually only use for cooking and not for eating fresh so it was pretty bad. For soup and 2 small sandwich quarters it was £9.95 which I thought was expensive for what you actually got and even compared to other places in the Lakes etc. The decor is nice and the cakes always look good but unfortunately I think they need to tweak a few things in order to be good enough.

We were very disappointed with our visit today ! We always have the all day breakfast which has always been delicious ! Today however the bacon was fatty and the sausage ring was absolutely horrible ..tasteless and like rubber ! What has happened .. please can you tell us if you have changed your supplier if so and this is going to be the future we won’t be returning ! Will come again just to see and hopefully Mrs Wilson’s will be back to normal ! I hope so as we used to love it !! So disappointed today! (Your staff mind are lovely )… Talking to a friend on the phone we have learned it’s changed hands!! So we won’t be back !! Wouldn’t recommend ! You must up your game for your own good !

I loved this place!! Stopped in for coffee and cake and the choice and quality were both excellent.
The building itself has so much charm with stunning decor. The atmosphere and staff made this such a warming and welcoming place to visit I look forward to coming back in the summer.

Fabulous. Rocked up and they were just setting up. They could not have been more lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and the owner/manager was amazing. Washed my coffee cup without me even needing to ask and told me how to buy breakfast so I’d save money. Chatted to her for quite a while and she then said hello to my grumpy dog who had turned up with my wife. One of life’s lovely people. Thank you for your outstanding service.

The food quality was not the best, better waffles you can get just around the corner in The Fairydust Emporium and cheaper. I didn’t like that the waitress had to move us because she was expecting bigger groups of people but lots of other large tables were free. Disrespectful.
